Haiti’s Deepening Humanitarian Crisis

Haiti is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis marked by escalating violence, political instability, and natural disasters. As of January 2025, more than 1 million people are internally displaced, with children accounting for over half of this population.

Approximately 5.5 million Haitians require humanitarian assistance, an increase from 5.2 million the previous year. Access to food, clean water, and healthcare has become increasingly scarce, contributing to rising malnutrition rates and the resurgence of diseases such as cholera. The international community has been urged to increase support for humanitarian efforts, focusing on immediate relief and long-term development to address the root causes of the crisis and build resilience within Haitian communities.

These crises underscore the urgent need for comprehensive international engagement to provide immediate relief and address the underlying causes of these humanitarian disasters.
